MBE 900 Medium-Duty Engine Reliability
Trusted Every Day
The MBE 900 carries on the tradition of legendary medium-duty engine reliability that makes Detroit Diesel a leader. First, we focus on keeping your truck up and running. Then, when routine service or repairs are necessary, we make sure they're as fast and easy as possible. Because there's no time for lost productivity.
Go Long, Go Strong
The MBE 900 continues to be dependable because it keeps getting better. Recent design changes have improved reliability, fuel economy and performance, while reducing cost of ownership and emissions.
Powerful Monitoring
What's going on under the hood? It's your business to know at all times. And with the MBE 900's enhanced DDEC® VI electronic controls, you get up-to-the-minute data on vital engine systems, damage prevention in the event of a failure, and the info you need to react quickly.
Technician-Friendly Design
Shop time is no friend of the bottom line. That's why the MBE 900 is designed to need fewer repairs than other engines in its class. And when it does need service, getting the work done is simple because we've configured frequently serviced parts like the oil pan and filter in convenient, easy-to-reach places.
Reliable Cold Weather Performance
Another high-tech triumph: our unique, DDEC® VI-controlled grid heater, which pre-heats cold air in the intake system before it enters your engine. That means better performance down to -20°F, reduced cranking time, increased starter life and reduced smoke.
Cleaner Operation
The MBE 900's closed-crankcase breather — which features a maintenance free oil separator — removes oil from crankcase vapor before the vapor returns to the engine. This not only helps reduce harmful emissions, but also recycles the oil droplets back to the engine where they can keep doing their job.

Full Protection
Every MBE 900 ships with a standard, comprehensive warranty that covers your engine over the long haul and can be transferred to new owners — another benefit of our engines' high resale value.
