BlueTec® Emissions Technology

How BlueTec Lets You Demand It All

Detroit Diesel’s BlueTec® emissions technology is designed to meet all EPA 2010 regulations. The DD13™ engine, DD15™ engine and the DD16™ engine were built for BlueTec SCR, which means that there will be virtually no changes to your base engine.

Demand Simplicity. Demand Economy. Demand Experience.

Here you can learn about BlueTec SCR, the emissions technology that will help all new Detroit Diesel engines pass the new standards.

DEF Nationwide

Detroit Diesel’s BlueTec diesel exhaust fluid will be sold at over 2,500 locations throughout the country.

1-Box™ Emissions Package

The Detroit Diesel BlueTec 1-Box Configuration combines the diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), diesel particulate filter (DPF) and SCR catalyst into one component. This improves fuel economy by lowering engine back pressure. The BlueTec 1-Box Configuration, only from Detroit Diesel, lets you demand it all.

More than Emissions: Demand Reliability

Because Detroit Diesel’s BlueTec SCR treats exhaust after combustion, our engineers calibrated the engine to reduce temperatures and back pressure in many parts of the engine. This provides reduced stress on many internal engine components, resulting in improved reliability. Since BlueTec emissions technology is backed up by Detroit Diesel’s best performing network, we’ll have the parts and service you need when you need them.

Flexibility to Fit Your Needs

With a BlueTec-ready engine, you are only adding a few new components including: a DEF tank, DEF doser, SCR catalyst, aftertreatment control module (ACM) and DEF gauge. These components can be installed in a variety of packages, and your dealer sales consultant can work with you to determine the best package to fit your needs.

DEF Dash Gauges

Since your DEF gauge is located within the fuel gauge, knowing when it is time to fill-up with DEF is simple. As your DEF tank starts to run low, the four green lights will drop to three, then two, then one yellow light. Just remember to fill your tank before the last light turns red.
